Foods From Spain

Foods from Spain's role is to promote exports of Spanish food products to the UK marketplace, introducing new products and developing the market for more established ones.

We take a varied strategic approach to the task, from working with Spanish producers and exporters and British importers and distributors, helping each side source products or find distribution channels, to arranging product promotions.

These in turn range from generic to product-specific promotions, in-store or through the media and are frequently run in close collaboration with groups of producers.

Yorkshire primary tops collage competition

Foods from Spain has announced the winner of the National Primary Schools Competition 2008.

This year’s fantastic first prize, a cheque for £3,000, was won by North Duffield primary school in Selby, North Yorkshire, which impressed judges with the knowledge of Spanish fruit and vegetables it displayed, as well as its link to the 5-a-day healthy eating campaign.

Second and third prize cheques of £1,000 and £500 were won respectively by Kingston primary school in Benfleet, Essex, and Whittington C of E primary school in Shropshire.

Year group winners for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 won a set of Foods from Spain sports bibs, while runners up received Foods from Spain pencil sets.

A panel of food writers, chefs and representatives of Foods from Spain and the Spanish Embassy judged the competition in June, and was extremely impressed by the high standard and variety of approximately 500 entries we received.

If you were one of approximately 500 schools that sent an entry into this year’s competition, many thanks, on behalf of everybody at Foods from Spain.
