Foods from Spain has announced the winner of the National Primary Schools Competition 2008.

This year’s fantastic first prize, a cheque for £3,000, was won by North Duffield primary school in Selby, North Yorkshire, which impressed judges with the knowledge of Spanish fruit and vegetables it displayed, as well as its link to the 5-a-day healthy eating campaign.

Second and third prize cheques of £1,000 and £500 were won respectively by Kingston primary school in Benfleet, Essex, and Whittington C of E primary school in Shropshire.

Year group winners for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 won a set of Foods from Spain sports bibs, while runners up received Foods from Spain pencil sets.

The judging panel was extremely impressed by the high standard and variety of approximately 500 entries we received.

If your school sent an entry into this year’s competition, many thanks, on behalf of everybody at Foods from Spain.
